July Concert in Notting Hill.

1999

9 July ‘A Notting Hill Carnival’, St George’s Hall, Notting Hill. Music by Byrd, Stanford, Pearsall, Rutter, Vaughan Williams, Bruckner and Bridge. In aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief. Conducted by Toby Purser and Matthew Altham.

2000

26 March Concert at St George’s Campden Hill.

5 April Concert at St George’s Campden Hill.

26 May Concert at Beaulieu Abbey, including Tavener, Stanford and Bridge, Vaughan Williams folksong settings and a Mass by Palestrina.

24 November Concert at St George’s Campden Hill, including Britten’s Hymn to St Cecilia.

13 December Carol Concert at the V&A.

2001

9 March Faure Requiem – A concert of sacred music by Faure and Howells. Conducted by Matthew Altham and Charlie Grace. Soloists Sarah Moule and David Salmon, organist Andrew Wells. St George’s Campden Hill.

April As Velvet Chords, at Wilton’s Music Hall – music hall favourites.

May Bank Holiday weekend concert at St Mary the Virgin, Petworth, including Mendelssohn ‘Hear My Prayer’, Parry, Stanford, Finzi, Lotti, Haydn, Taverner, Bainton, Grainger, Purcell, Wesley and Sullivan. The choir also sang the Sunday morning services.

1 June An Evening of Choral Music for Ascensiontide and the Church year. Finzi, Bainton, Stanford, Mendelssohn, Parry. St George’s Church, Campden Hill.

25 October Vivaldi Gloria; Britten Te Deum and Jubilate; Finzi Lo The Full Final Sacrifice. Marylebone Church. Conducted by Charlie Grace and Matthew Altham.

December St Mary’s Easebourne Carol Concert.

19 December ‘Christmas through the Ages’. A celebration of the Christmas Music of the British Isles from the Middle Ages to the Present Day - sung by Velvet Chords at the V&A conducted by Charlie Grace and Matthew Altham, with Chris Cartner on the piano.

21 December A Celebration of Christmas with seasonal music and readings. Conducted by Charlie Grace and Matthew Altham, accompanied by Chris Cartner.

2002

15 March Bach St John Passion with the Vox Cordis Orchestra. Soloists: Mark Wilde as the Evangelist, Matthew Altham as Jesus, William Townend as Pilate / Bass, Sarah Moule (Soprano), Simon Baker (Alto), and Chris Watson (Tenor) at St Mary Abbotts, Kensington. In aid of Hope and Homes for Children. Conducted by Charlie Grace.

1 June Jubilee Celebration of Music through the Ages, for The Queen’s Golden Jubilee. Conducted by Charlie Grace. St Paul’s Walden Bury.

3 July Macmillan Summer Serenade, St Luke’s Chelsea. With Sue McGregor, Kathryn Harries and John Hudson.

1 May Concert as part of the Music at Beaulieu series, including Britten Flower Songs and music by Elgar, Stanford, Farmer, Byrd and Morley. Conducted by Matthew Altham.

21 April Beethoven Symphony 8; Haydn Harmoniemesse. With the Orchestra of St Paul’s, conducted by Ben Palmer. St Paul’s Covent Garden. Soloists from the choir.

4 July A Summer Serenade – light hearted music for a summer evening, including music by Elgar, Barber, Tippett, Sullivan, Cole Porter, Stanford and Jerome Kern. In aid of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust Windmill Project. Conducted by Charlie Grace and Matthew Altham, organist Jonathan Leonard.

19 / 20 October Ampleforth weekend, including a concert in Ampleforth Village and High Mass at Ampleforth Abbey. Conducted by Matthew Altham.

12 July Elgar The Dream of Gerontius. Vox Cordis as semi-chorus with the Forest Philharmonic orchestra and the South West Essex Choir, conducted by Ben Palmer. Walthamstow Assembly Hall. Soloists: Sarah Moule as the Angel, Richard Rowe as Gerontius, and George von Bergen as the Priest / the Angel of the Agony.
